Wintertime and skiing in Austria

From the 28th of December until the 7th of January we took a trip to the wonderful Austrian mountains. Journeying to our destination Piesendorf, we combatted fierce snowfall. A picturesque start to our vacation.
Upon arriving we went for a great traditional Austrian dinner at the local restaurant. We were warmed by the kindness of the Austrian people dressed in their dirndl and lederhosen ;-).
In the morning we went for a walk to the bakery and enjoyed our breakfast in the sunshine with a stunning view. Later that day we went skiing!
The next day we went skiing again and enjoyed the Austrian mountains. We went out for dinner in Kaprun.
New Years was spent cooking dinner with my family, playing games and frying traditionally Dutch Oliebollen and Appelbeignets. Around 12 we lit fireworks and held a great party; a superb start to the new year!
The next day we took it easy and went for a walk through the Austrian mountains. We visited Kaprun and did a little sightseeing. We skied as well ;-).
Tuesday we skied in the morning and during the afternoon went for a walk around a gorgeous mountain lake with a ravine called the Sigmund Thun Klamm. We made our very own snowman and named him Bob, after Bob Marley: it's the hair ;-) ;-)! Haha We used only what was provided for by nature. The ice peaks were a real sight to be seen!
We had dinner in Kaprun.
Wednesday we visited Zell am See, did some sightseeing and shopping. We spent the day there and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Crazy Daisy.
Thursday we went skiing and afterwards we went to the Spa Resort in Kaprun for an indoor and outdoor swim and made great use of the sauna facilities as well ;-). We went for dinner in Kaprun.
Friday we went to Kitzbuhel. We drove through heavy snowfall but reached there safely. We did some sightseeing and shopping; soaking up as much of the Austrian atmosphere as we could. We visited some great local cafes. We cooked dinner for my family that evening.
Saturday was the last day skiing and we took full advantage of it;-)! We had dinner at the local restaurant once more and prepared for the journey home. It was one of the best ski trips ever!!! We were so lucky with the weather; greatest skiing conditions and still had the sunshine to enjoy
